Indiana Council on World Affairs - Academic WorldQuest 2026 - February 14, 2026
Academic WorldQuest, the World Affairs Councils of America's (WACA) nationwide youth education program, with study guide, engages more than 2,000 high school students across the nation in local competitions organized by more than 40 local world affairs councils, including the Indiana Council on World Affairs (ICWA).
The fast-paced game-style quiz tests knowledge about world affairs, global economics, geography, history and culture. The easily accessed on-line study guide and the competition are free-of-charge.
In Indiana, teams of four students, along with their teacher, compete among other Indiana high schools for a chance to win an expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. for the national competition by the World Affairs Councils of America held in Washington, D.C.
Indiana's competition is open to all high schools in Indiana. Hosted by the Indiana Council on World Affairs, it's held on the campus of the University of Indianapolis in the Schwitzer Center.
Now in its 24th year nationally and 22nd year in Indiana, AWQ is a trusted nonpartisan and ever-improving world affairs study program with a generation of accomplished, well-informed leaders in the workplace! AWQ is foundational preparation for students' careers in our globally connected world:
● Competency for intergovernmental diplomacy and global peace.
● Foundation for global languages and international travel.
● Citizen diplomacy for international business and global prosperity.
When teachers register their school's students to learn about world affairs, they are among the leaders for world peace and prosperity, and some teachers report career enhancements!
