About the event
Isabella Fallahi is a 16 year old climate activist and organizer, she is currently the Director of Communications for a national youth-led organization by the name of Zero Hour. She has not only organized the nationwide strikes on September 20th and has lobbied on Capitol Hill for a Green New Deal, but she has also organized the strikes in Indianapolis, and is leading the Indiana Green New Deal initiative. Feeling youth voices were not valued, she published an article in VICE. She has also written for Elle Magazine and has been featured in the Washington Post.
Jake Hawes is a PhD student in the School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Urban Sustainability Research Group studying the role of food, energy, and water infrastructure in the design of more resilient, sustainable cities. His work seeks to integrate the design sciences and sustainability research, working to understand how the interactions between humans and the world around us empower or undermine environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
