“There is a flickering spark in us all which, if struck at just the right age...can light the rest of our lives, elevating our ideals, deepening our tolerance and sharpening our appetite for knowledge about the rest of the world.”
- President Ronald Reagan, 1982
With your sponsorship of the 2012 Academic WorldQuest, you can help spark Indiana students’ appetites to elevate their understanding and deepen their connections to the rest of the world in a fun and interactive way!
Each February, high school students from as far away as East Chicago come to Indianapolis to compete in the annual Academic WorldQuest Competition. The teams spend months studying topics that will test their knowledge of current affairs, world leaders, geography, recent history, flags, international organizations, countries, regions, the world economy, culture, religion, and more.
They vie for an opportunity to represent Indiana in the National WorldQuest Competition held in the spring each year in Washington, DC. While in Washington, the students spend three days visiting museums, receiving high-level briefings and meeting with their congressional delegates so that they can deepen their understanding of international affairs.
As a supporter of the 2012 Indiana Academic WorldQuest, you will not only help make the event a success but you will ensure that students will be well-prepared for the global challenges of the 21st Century that will help both our state and the nation prosper.
